1967 Mustang 289 Coupe
£34,995
1967 Ford Mustang 289 Coupe in Wimbledon white with mid metallic blue Shelby style stripes. Its "C code " 4.7 V8, 3 speed auto. This car is in unbelievable condition, the photos don't do it justice, come and see for yourself ! It was rotisserie restored approx 10 years ago back to bare metal. Meaning everything possible was removed / stripped out including the engine, gearbox, all the running gear and the complete interior. Just leaving the bare body/chassis.The whole thing was then sand blasted and then seam welded to strengthen everything. The entire chassis was then etch primed. Then a primer coat of paint was applied followed by the undercoat and then 3 coats of top colour. (the original Wimbledon white) Amazingly the inside of the engine bay, the complete interior of the car and even the whole underneath of the car was top colour painted to match and finish off the high end and top quality job ! The engine was overhauled next and any worn parts were replaced. A new Edelbrock carburettor and matching alloy Edelbrock inlet manifold replaced the original and a few other mods, including Edelbrock alloy rocker covers and a nice K&N air filter, Nothing high performance just enough to make it run better and to keep some of the originality. The new owner will have the scope to upgrade as they see fit if so desired. The engine was painted the original factory blue colour and the engine bay is very well detailed. There is a comprehensive folder of photographs, paperwork and receipts documenting the entire restoration process showing and explaining all of the work done to handover to the new owner. The car was all put back together and finally back on the road in March 2012. It has only done approx 11000 miles in ten years since the rebuild in 2012, it has MOT checked it each year for peace of mind as its MOT and tax exempt. A lot of time was spent sourcing the best condition Mustang around and the new owner will not be disappointed ! It has only ever been driven in the dry and stored in a secure dry garage. Very recently a complete set of new tyres about 6 months ago was purchased and fitted to the nice original Craggier SS chrome five spoke wheels and I have a small selection of spares (including a new carpet) to go with the car as well. In conclusion it runs, drives and stops exactly as it should bearing in mind its 55 years old ....It never fails to put a massive smile on my face and the attention it gets is amazing. The classic mustang V8 exhaust note is unmistakable and addictive!
