The car was originally a LHD US export registered 917 XIG (the original blue plate California plate comes with the car). the E Type was purchased from the second owner in Santa Barbara, California where it had lived since the early 1970s. The first owner lived in New York, and was in the US Airforce and transferred to California, so drove the E across the US when he relocated to California, so from 1971 until 1995 the car resided in California, from when it was purchased by the third owner.
It was then repatriated back to the UK when it was undertaken with the restoration, the Roadster has a very large history file with many invoices collected over the last 24 years of ownership, the original drivers handbook in the original Jaguar plastic pocket, and other Jaguar related documents are also included, it has a period correct Motorola pushbutton radio that has been converted to FM with a jack plug socket lead to plug in a iPhone allowing you to play music through the radio as well. Uprated FLY speakers fitted as dimensionally correct as original Jaguar items.
The car has its original tools, within a new tool roll. The Metalfracture jack is with the car in its original jack bag.
The car has attended many classic car rallys over the years and was, up to 2015, a regular at the Goodwood Revival and was at the first Revival in 1998, was also driven on the circuit at Silverstone for the 2011 E-Type 50th celebration and photographed with Norman Dewis, Jaguar’s famous test driver.
It carries a significant original registration number XKE 32 of which is included within the sale of this stunning E Type Roadster, needless to say the vehicle drives and handles perfectly, its in show condition and would be a super addition to any serious collection.
