1961 Aston Martin DB4 LHD

1961 Aston Martin DB4 LHD Series III, Chassis DB4/652/L, Engine number 350/659, Snow Shadow Grey metallic with Black Vaumol VM8500 Leather, the optional extras when new are the following, Overdrive in Top Gear, Oil Cooler, Heated rear Windscreen, Electric window lifts, 3.77 Power Lock Diff, painted wire wheels shod with Dunlop RS5 600 x 16 Cross-ply tyres.

This DB4 LHD is numbers matching and was supplied new by one of the World Distributors & Dealers for Aston Martin, Rene Mannes, 40-43 Rue de France, Brussels-Midi, Belgium, it was purchased by the current owners Father and first registered 31st May 1961, apon collection the Father accompanied by his Son drove the DB4 back to central Amsterdam, it was purchased in Brussels because at that time Aston Martin did not have any supplying dealers in The Netherlands.

The vehicle resided in Amsterdam and was cherished by the Father, the vehicle then moved to central London in 1975 and was then UK registered, where it has resided ever since, in a secure heated underground storage facility, the car was cosmically restored by Nigel Cooper restorations and a full engine rebuild taking the engine size from 3.7 Ltr to 4.0 Ltr the engine work was carried out by Aston Specialist Ian Mason, all of this work was carried out 25 years ago, the car is still in great shape with perfect paint and shut lines, the engine starts immediately and pulls like a train.

Within the vehicle's extensive service History which sits 8cm tall in an A4 folder, there are 28 old Mot’s, the Invoice from Ian Mason for the engine rebuild in 1992 for £20,503.45 the Odometer was showing at the time 36,091 Kms its now showing 50,533 Kms, Invoice from Nigel Cooper for £26,750.00, along with a vast amount of invoices from day one, there is also the Factory Build Sheet Record, full large and small tools, the leather interior is totally original and has a fantastic patina (its only original once) the paint work is still real sharp, engine bay is very tidy and original, there is a full stainless steel exhaust system, rare Lucas Le Mans headlamps, everything is working including the overdrive, the car is now shod with Avon Turbo steel 600 x 16 cross-ply tyres, all in all this is the FIRST TIME this car has been FOR SALE since his Farther purchased it from new ! It must be Unique (well probably) to be totally honest, i doubt if you will ever find another DB4 LHD Number Matching Father and Son car owned from new !
