Undoubtedly a future classic in the making with a total production figure of only 1236, this particular model is in all the rite colours and baring in mind that it was almost 180K when new it represents true value for money for a coachbuilt Bentley in today's market, with new paint, new complete brakes and pads, new tyres and refurbished alloys, refurbished leather interior it's now in stunning condition, and a bargain at £32,500

1966 PLYMOUTH HEMI SATELLITE COUPE

"The best combination of brute force and tractable street manners we've ever driven" (Car and Driver commenting on the 1966 Plymouth Hemi Satellite)   Chrysler briefly offered its 426ci Hemi engine in very limited numbers in some of its 1965 models. But, with a 12.5:1 compression ratio and high state of tune it was really too highly strung for road use. The company certainly got the mix right for 1966, however, and one of the chief beneficiaries was the Satellite model - enter the now legendary Plymouth Satellite 426 Hemi.   Numerous changes were required to make the engine suitably streetable, including: substituting cast iron cylinder heads for alloy ones and dual Carter four barrel carburetters for the racing Holley one. The compression ratio was reduced to 10.25:1 and a milder camshaft installed. The resulting unit was quoted as having 425bhp at 5,000rpm and 490 lb ft of torque at 4,000rpm; but those figures were generally accepted as being conservative. The new engine added about $1,000 to the price of a Satellite two-door Hardtop or Convertible and it could be teamed with either a four-speed manual gearbox or Torque Flite automatic. A Sure-Grip differential was optional. The quoted performance figures were 5.3 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 60mph and 13.8 seconds for the standing quarter mile, with a terminal speed of 104mph. When specified, the Hemi was coupled to a host of performance enhancing extras, including heavy duty suspension and police-grade 11 inch drum brakes. Only 848 1966 Satellite Hemi's were manufactured, 534 of which were equipped with the optional automatic three or four-speed transmission. This is one rare car, even in America!   The Hemi on offer is a 1966 Coupe finished in Citroen Gold (a Light Metallic Green) matched to a Citroen Gold interior. is finished to near concours standard, having just benefited from a 2000+ hour restoration and over £78,000 in the restoration cost alone, In addition to the aforementioned engine and suspension, this car's mighty impressive specification includes: power steering,  servo assisted ventilated discs brakes and a 727 three-speed automatic transmission, the Satellite has been built with a mix of new old stock parts, plus some small repro ones - eg there is a new old stock Delco battery that cost £500 on its own, everything is correct right down to the French polished mahogany sports steering wheel, the new radial Red Line B F Goodrich tyres and original spinner hub caps.   This extraordinary '60s icon is being sold complete with a large history file that includes a seven page letter from Galen Govier, the world renowned Mopar guru, the original factory build sheet that contains a breakdown of all the model's factory fitted options, both Tax and MOT to the end of October 2012. Not surprisingly, the bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, engine and transmission to all be in 'excellent' order. Rare and exciting muscle cars probably don't come much better than this, especially on this side of the pond. If the news of ceaseless wars and flagging economies has been getting you down of late, then this 7-litre rocket ship could be just the antidote you need. SOLD

1968 Plymouth 440 GTX Convertible

Originally dubbed the Belvedere GTX, Plymouth's new gentleman's muscle car was unveiled in 1967. It was readily distinguished from the cooking Belvedere by its special grille and rear panel, as well as mock bonnet scoops, chrome race-style fuel filler cap and optional racing stripes. Heavy duty suspension was standard, as was the company's 440ci (7.2-litre) V8. With 375bhp on tap, the GTX 440 could sprint to 60mph in around 6.5 seconds and cover the standing quarter mile in 15.2 seconds with a terminal speed of 97mph. And, if that wasn't quick enough, then there was the option of the smaller but even more powerful Chrysler 426ci Hemi engine.
The GTX was given a makeover just one year into production and the somewhat boxy '67 body replaced with a more curvaceous one. It was offered in two styles - two-door Hardtop and two-door Convertible.
The lefthand drive GTX 440 being sold is one of the latter, of which only 881 are said to have been produced in 1968. It sports a QQI Bright Blue Metallic body teamed with a White interior and matching power hood. BHJ 151F has just benefited from a £25,000 restoration that included, a bare metal respray, fully detailed engine bay, refurbished 440ci engine (Houser Racing) new front ventilated disc brake conversion with new master cylinder and servo, new Torque Thrust 'D' American racing magnesium wheels shod with BFGoodrich raised white letter tyres, new twin custom-built stainless steel exhaust system, fully detailed underbody, this stunning looking and very original, matching numbers 440 GTX Convertible to have 'super' bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, engine and three-speed automatic transmission. It is being sold complete with tax and MOT into May 2012. A rare and serious muscle car with huge presence, in every sense of the word  £65,000 REDUCED TO £45,000

1965 Bentley S3 Continental by James Young

Seychelles Blue metallic with Navy Blue Hide, this two owner car has covered only just 69,359 miles from new, with a very good history file and Factory Build sheet records and being one of only Twenty coach-built S3 Continental James Young cars built, in fact BC46XE was the very last Coachbuilt James Young SIII Continentals Manufactured. Chassis number BC46XE was dispatched on 22 April, 1965 and sent to Jack Barclay, Ltd. for customer Rex Makin, Esq., presumably the lawyer most famous for his involvement with Brian Epstein and The Beatles and who is credited for inventing the term "Beatlemania." Interestingly, the chassis specifications note, "This chassis must not be desptached (sic) without Radiator Shell or Mascot." The right-hand drive model was sent to coachbuilder James Young for fitment of its bodyshell. Without question, James Young Coachbuilders was responsible for some of the most restrained and handsome bodies fitted to Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, and this example is no exception. Included in the car's file is the original Rolls-Royce Motor Car Division Warranty card made out in Mr. Makin's name. The car was sold via Mann Egerton & Co. to its next long-term keeper, a Mr. R. Way Esq. of Wimbledon, SW19 on 2 January, 1968, and Mr. Way became the long-term keeper of this motor car. Invoices in the file from James Young Coachbuilders and Man and Egerton indicate that this car was properly cared for whilst in Mr. Way's ownership. Smartly finished in metallic Astral Blue and with its inviting black leather interior, contrasting great Wilton carpets and nice lustre to the wooden dash and door cappings, this luxurious, elegant and distinctive two-owner Bentley by James Young comes with a fresh UK MOT certificate and would make a very, very smart addition to any collection. £89,995.
